Psalms, Chapter 97, Verse 10
Ye that love the LORD, hate evil: he preserveth the souls of his saints; he delivereth them out of the hand of the wicked.
When I talk about hating evil and hating those that God hates, I do not mean to wish them harm or death, what I mean is that we need to hate the things that God hates and hate the sinners ways, and his or her actions. It's very unbiblical to wish harm on unbelievers and those that mock his name. But its very biblical and what God's word says to hate evil. Because I love God so much I will hate anything that he hates, for he hates much that opposes his will and his word. God's servants hate evil, and hate what God hates, for such is an enemy of God. Its wrong to hate sinners, but its biblical to hate their sin.
Please note that I do not hate the people listed below, I hate only their sin and evil.
I hate flag burners for they hate America and my
I hate false teachers for they teach false gospels
I hate liberal churches
I hate liberal books
I hate abortion clinics
I hate liars
I hate racists
I hate people that break laws
I hate drunk drivers
I hate murders
I hate those that cause division in the body of Christ over trivial matters
and so on..
I find it saddening that there are so many churches these days that claim to love God, yet tolerate sin, tolerate evil in their midst and bare the name of Christ. But how can they love God if they also love evil? It's impossible to serve both God and their evil. Years ago people used to not tolerate all the filth and evil on TV, yet many Christians these days are not bothered by these same things. There are many Christians that watch a TV program called American Idol, and watch it without a conscious towards the great evil in its name. The Bible calls that show evil, for it bares the name idol, and is a abomination to God (Lev 19:4). Besides idols God hates concealed evil desires towards our neighbor and vows we do not keep.
Zech, Chapter 8, Verse 17
And let none of you imagine evil in your hearts against his neighbour; and love no false oath: for all these are things that I hate, saith the LORD.
We need to love our neighbor as ourselves, and our neighbor is anyone we come into contact with. The good Samaritan mentioned in Luke 10 was a good example of someone that loved his neighbor as himself. God also hates people that do not pay their bills and he hates divorce (Mal 2:16). A list of sins that the Lord hates are mentioned in Proverbs.
Proverbs, Chapter 6, Verses 16-19, New
King James Version
These six things the LORD hates,Yes, seven are an abomination to Him:
A proud look,
A lying tongue,
Hands that shed innocent blood,
A heart that devises wicked plans,
Feet that are swift in running to evil,
A false witness who speaks lies,
And one who sows discord among brethren..
The Lord hates all sin, but he hates the sins above even more so. These are an abomination to him and he hates them. Those that claim to love the Lord will hate these sins and all sin that displeases God.
Psalms, Chapter 119, Verse 104
Through thy precepts I get understanding: therefore I hate every false way.
I hate Mormonism
I hate the Jehovah's Witness cult
I hate Christian Science
I hate Scientology
I hate OneNess Pentecostalism
I hate Roman Catholicism
I hate atheism & agnosticism
I hate Humanism
I hate New Age beliefs
I hate all that is contrary to God and His word. I hate every false way and everything that teaches a doctrine and a way apart from God and what is communicated in His word. The way to salvation is clearly spelled out, and I hate false teachers and religions that lead people astray. These type will face their judgment for leading people down the path to destruction. I love the word and I love God (Psa 119:113). If we love God then we will hate evil. If we do not love God, then we WILL NOT hate evil. God's people hate evil, and all that God hates. If we do not hate evil, then we do not love God. Hating evil is a essential and glorious feature of God's character. For God's children should feel the same towards evil, for evil is an abomination to his children just as it is to God.
Psalms, Chapter 139, Verse 21
Do not I hate them, O LORD, that hate thee? And am not I grieved with those that rise up against thee?
If you can't hate false doctrine and false ways, then the love of God may not be in you. We need to hate those that hate God and his ways. No I am not talking about hating them personally, I am referring to hating their ways. Recently I was banned from the Internet Infidels. I was banned because I preached the world very boldly and the many skeptics and cults posting there hated me for it. I had a debate with a hard punching Agnostic named Johnny Skeptic and hopefully the seed planted by the Word of God will reach his soul.
Proverbs, Chapter 8, Verse 13
The fear of the LORD is to hate evil: pride, and arrogancy, and the evil way, and the froward mouth, do I hate.
Amos, Chapter 5, Verse 15
Hate the evil, and love the good, and establish judgment in the gate: it may be that the LORD God of hosts will be gracious unto the remnant of Joseph.
Why then is the church of today so tolerant and open to evil? The answer is because the church does not love God, but instead tolerates and loves evil. So many are insensitive toward God, and love evil instead. The church of today is described in the passage of scripture below.
Psalms, Chapter 36, Verses 1-4
The transgression of the wicked saith within my heart, that there is no fear of God before his eyes. For he flattereth himself in his own eyes, until his iniquity be found to be hateful. The words of his mouth are iniquity and deceit: he hath left off to be wise, and to do good. He deviseth mischief upon his bed; he setteth himself in a way that is not good; he abhorreth not evil.
I hope and pray that Christians will be in this category described in the passage of scripture below.
Psalms, Chapter 38, Verses 1-4
O LORD, rebuke me not in thy wrath: neither chasten me in thy hot displeasure. For thine arrows stick fast in me, and thy hand presseth me sore. There is no soundness in my flesh because of thine anger; neither is there any rest in my bones because of my sin. For mine iniquities are gone over mine head: as an heavy burden they are too heavy for me.
Those that claim to love God, and act Christian in a church, school or around other believers yet do not really love God are a fulfillment of 2 Pet 2:22 as they are like the dog that returns to its vomit. So I challenge you to love the Lord by HATING EVIL. You must oppose evil, you must stand against evil and evil must be exposed publicly (Eph 5:11).
